if you put dark brown over red and blonde highlights, the red will go darker, but the blonde will turn green. You need two steps. First, get a medium red color - use ONLY the color bottle - not the developer which is usually the plastic one with the nozzle. Put red color on hair. Wait 15 minutes, rinse. It will put a red tone on the blonde highlights which you need to prevent going green. Towel dry hair. Use dark brown product, ash if you have cool skin tones, natural dark brown for all others. It should cover completely, with maybe a little lighter brown on your former highlights, which looks more natural. Please talk to a stylist..u really dont want anything messed up to happen. Just give one a call. But all i could say from my knowledge is that the red should go darker but u would be able to tell u had blonde highlights because the blonde is lighter than the red and they will dye at different hues so i suggest u go to a stylist for even colouring. Dont do it at home if u want the best results.
