Hmm....well this depends. Is your hair naturally super-light, platinum blonde? Or is it more of a naturally dirty blonde? Or strawberry blonde? These are all important questions to consider.
If your hair already has some natural streaks of lighter and darker brown in it, then light brown highlights would look amazing. Just make sure that you go for that natural, sun-kissed look that is totally in for this spring and summer. And also, be sure that you don't totally overdo the highlights with ugly, obviously unnatural colors--this will result in a really bad, forced appearance.

I have medium-dark brown hair. It is fairly long and I am gonna keep growing it out.(I have brown eyes and tan skin) I am planning on getting side bangs and layers (atleast a couple of inches in difference) in about 3 weeks and I also want to get my hair professionally highlighted as well. if i were you i would do two colors- a strawberry blond and a white blonde! go every other one, or every two strawberry blondes get a white blonde, either one would work. if you want noticeable, get thick ones!! that would look really good with side sweep bangs. I highlighted my hair back in February of this year. It was a great color and I loved it but a few months down the line I got pregnant and was unable to keep up with the maintenance.
How or which product is best to cover up the highlights and it being successful? Mind you that my roots grew out like almost 2 inches out.
I know that sulphate free shampoo is a big factor on it all. I just want advice on which brand of haircolor is best.....? :)Trying to get rid of blonde highlights for the fall!! HELP!?

also, it sounds better than there was perminate green stuff in my hair, so i cut it

If they won't give you your money back, you can bring them to small claims court and sue them for what you paid for their services and what it costed you to fix it. Maybe some kind of pain and suffering too. Unless you signed a waiver, then you're screwed.
Otherwise if you want to take a DIY approach to this, get a home coloring kit and dye your hair darker, maybe back to it's natural color, and then add your own highlights. If you try to bleach the green out, you will damage your hair greatly and it might even become more green. You have better chances of covering it up with a darker color.
it sounds like the #7 was ';ashy'; which has green in it, if ur hair was as pale as u say, he should have made sure the color he put in had some ';warmth'; in it, (red) and it would have turned out perfect. now ur hair wouldnt have been red by any means, it is just acting like a filler to the hair that is too light. if u go back to him, id ask for him to put some warmth back into ur hair and u shouldnt have to pay for it either if this was a recent service.

Going from highlights to all over blonde?

Last year, the stylist I have always used moved abroad, so I started going to a different salon. I wasn't happy with the way they highlighted my hair, and now it looks a mess with all different types of blonde in, and you can see the graduation in my hair where the shades of blonde differ.
I am due to have my hair done, and I was thinking of just getting a permanent light blonde colour on the top half of my head, and leaving my natural mousey colour on the bottm half to keep some variation, and not be full on blonde.
Is it possible to just have half of your head coloured (like highlights), and do you think this is a wise move?

I have a very brown color of hair, and have all my life. You just need to do a glaze or toner. It is not harmful to your hair and it will fix the problem all together. Trust me on this you will not be disapointed and you can't screw it up!
Go to Sally Beauty Supply. Go to the haircolor. Purchase a bottle of the 4N Light Natural Brown Clairol Pro Radiance Color gloss. Here is a link to show what the bottle will look like..

Also make sure you pick up a bottle.. Here is the one I use..

Let sit for 10-15 minutes (depending on how dark you would like it) and rinse usuing only Conditioner. Do NOT Shampoo out.
The end result will be exactly what you want. The platinum highlights will be lighter and will not be so dramatic. It will look much more natural!

You can put it on your hair like its shampoo, leave it on for about 10 minutes and wash it out.
dye your hair your brown color, then get highlights again. go to a different stylist and ask for golden blonde highlights. or do it at home:

The beauty supply places have stuff to take out color, just do your roots and then color over it.
You can't dye over semi-permanant or permanant dyes. You need to remove them before dying using a dye stripper. I would really recommend you go to a hairdresser and get them to strip the existing dyes out of your hair and then you can start again.

if the brown in quite light it might go yellow. but you can put a toner like silver shampoo to make it more white. if the brown is quite dark then it will go ginger at first. but if your hair is in good condition you can put more bleach on it.

Black and blonde highlights?
Right now I have dark brown hair with a little bit of blonde underneath, it was blue but I have to die it a couple times until it stays in, so next time I get my hair done that is what I'm doing, and I wanted to do one more thing. I have medium brown hair and am getting blonde highlights next week but i was wondering if i should get half or full head of them, and also is it possible to have more than one tone of blonde put in? I have half a head (because its cheaper) and you really cant tell that some of my hair is darker.
I suggest getting a full head if you put your hair up in a high pony tail because the difference in colour can show then, but other than that a half head is just fine.
You can have two colour of highlights - I have a lighter blonde and a more honey coloured blonde going though mine, It looks more natural I think.
For a natural look with highlights try to keep near to your natural hair colour and only go a few shades lighter.
