Can you dye over blonde highlights?

i had my hair cut and highlighted yesterday, i love the cut but i hate the highlights! im too scared to go back to the salon and ask them to sort it out, so is it possible to dye over the highlights with a darker colour without my hair going green or something?Can you dye over blonde highlights?
i dyed over blonde highlights ages ago which i didnt like with a dark brown dye. i left it on about 5 min longer than i should have done and it was fine

i had blonde highlights and dyed over them with a chocolate brown colour, it worked for me.


you could try another hairdressers other than the one that did your hair the first time, that would be the safest option or you could try doing it yourself


my advice would be to dye it a darker colour, the stronger the colour the more it will override the blonde and it wont be noticeable then
yh i had blonde highlights, i dyed it over with a meduim brown colour when the brown faded the highlights where gone, its a good way to get rid of them.
Yeah it dyes better since its blonde.
